How do I remove the flywheel on my qualcast 35s lawnmower?

Depends on the engine fitted. If it's a Tecumseh AQ148 engine, the coil is mounted on the cylinder OUTSIDE he flywheel. Don't waste your time pulling it off - there's nothing under it!

If it's the older 'suffolk' engine, you should really use a pulley designed for the purpose - however - at your own risk - proceed as follows.

Remove the flywheel nut, and any washers etc that are under it. Replace the nut, so it is FLUSH with the end of the crank. Have an assistant lever behind the flywheel, and apply firm sustained pressure in the direction of OFF, Now - using a steel drift, strike the end of the crank DEAD SQUARE with a hammer. The flywheel will pop off.
