Mend Cold Tap Turned

foghorn noise from cold water mixer tap?

My cold water mixer tap in the kitchen makes a noise like a foghorn when turned on. I have tried increasing and reducing the pressure from the main stopcock, all to no avail. Can anyone suggest a solution

This sounds like 'water hammer' check the pipe run is secure so as not to vibrate. It can sometimes be an airlock!
