why wont my mower start?

Even after servicing my Honda HRB 423 QDE petrol motor is a reluctant starter and if I stop it when hot it wont restart at all.When I can get it started I have some success when stopping it by switching off the fuel and letting it run dry.However last time I switched it off conventionally and now it refuses to start at all.Help please
