How do I fix my Peugeot 206 2001 speedometer?

Garage have checked the cable, no fault found. Speedometer drops to zero & stops working at 45mph approx. Has been to garage 3 times, now suggest I sent instrument panel to Peugeot. Any other suggestions please?
