My van has a fair bit of sooty smoke from the exhaust regularly as I accelerate, it also feels very slow to move off when under 1300 revs, never use to. Is it just a good service required or does this indicate more serious problems
Sorry,should have thought to put in the details, 2006 Fiat Ducatp 2.0JTD, done 130k, last serviced 7 months ago on about 90k

So, your van, age, make, model, engine size, petrol, diesel, that's six things you failed to tell us. When was it last serviced, so long ago you can't remember? More info needed, as unlike yourself, us mere mortals are not mind readers, get the gist
