Vokera Boiler - pressure too high .....heating and hot water ok
I have a problem with my boiler
over the last week i noticed the pressure was way too high for some reason ... spoke to a friend who advised what to try - at 1st we thought it was the loop pipe repressing the unit so disconnected this and still pressurising - have even turned off the unit but still pressurising - 2nd turned cold water off lowered to 1 bar . Run heating for 15 mins gauge went to 1.5 bar .. Then turned cold water back on ran hot water as well ... Gauge went up to 2 bar.
Please. Help
try turning the mains water off completely and run heating only if the pressure rises above limits then its the expanson vessel. if not then the other brian has probably answered the question for you

hi brian thankyou for your reply ...will try that : ).. in searching the web i tried another test ... i waited for the pressure to rise up to 3.5 bar .. then turned off the cold water to the boiler and then opened a hot water tap ... in 1 hour the pressure had dropped to 2 bar
again many thanks

start at the beginning drop the pressure to zero with the filling loop disconnected and leave for as long as possible if the pressure rises then the most likely cause will be the h/water heat exchanger i would think that if the boiler was being pressurised by the mains water (anything up to 10 bar in some places) the pressure relief valve would be constantly blowing
