Mend Miele G977 Dishwasher Drying Cycle

Miele G977 plus dishwasher extractor fan filling with water?

Our Miele dishwasher is about 3 years old. Over the last few months the extractor fan in the door has started to fill with water. During the drying cycle you can hear the fan spinning in water and when you open the door approx 50-100ml of water comes out. The problem was initially intermittent but it is now occuring most of the time.

Does anybody know what is causing this and how it can be fixed?
