Mend Washing Machine Wash Cycle Spin

my washer is completing the wash cycle to quick?

my wash is moving to the rinse cycle far too quickly. It washes for like five minutes and then lets the water out and move on to rinse.

Also it does not always spin when it lets the water out as it should. I would have to open and close the lid for it to spin
