Is my Humax freesat broken?

I have two Humax freesat (Foxsat) boxes. One of them has stopped working. When I switch it on all I get is the vertical line going around in a circle on the display. It used to do this for a moment and then go to APPL on the display but this now does not happen. I have tried swopping the boxes over and that has confirmed that it is the box and not the TV/arial etc. What's wrong? Can it be fixed?
