How can I remove a stuck Disc from a Magnavox TV with built-in DVD player?

I have a Magnavox model 27MDTR20/17 TV with built-in VCR and DVD player. The DVD Disc will not play nor eject. The display message on the TV screen says to eject the Disc, but when you try to eject it, a grinding noise comes from the TV/DVD player. How can I get the DVD tray to open so I can remove the Disc? This problem occurred when our cable service provider, Time Warner Cable, installed digital cable to our TV's. TWC said this had nothing to do with the problem we are having with the stuck Disc, that it is a Magnavox issue.
