vauxhall combo van 1.7i losing power?

after 5 mins of driving the van will lose power and spanner light will go on any ideas

you could try cleaning the egr valve,doesnt cost anything,you have to take off ecu on top of engine at back and various plates/brackets etc and valve is under there,sorry cant be more specific
