Mend Onics 500 DTR Tv Hard Drive

How can I fix my TV Onics 500 DTR?

I am encountering the same hard drive failure problem as others with my TV Onics DTR but it is the 500GB model and the normal power adaptor is an 18v 1.3A and proving a challenge to find. Any ideas?
