Sounds to me like you have neglected to thread the take up lever,machine sounds "clunky" & jams after 2 or 3 stitches.Best to refer to the manual & follow the threading instructions.

You have a definite tension problem, loops underneath means either the top tension is too loose or the bobbin case tension is too tight
