Mend Rover 200 series Replace Control Switch

replace wiper control swich?

I have a Rover 200 series 1998 and i want to replace the switch as this has a fault on the intermitant stage of the switch. can i just remove the stalk that is on the right hand side of the colume without taking the steering wheel of.
