mercedes e240 intermiting starting?

can anyone help my merc starts first time and if you stop it when i try to re start it turns over slowly as if the battery is flat then if i leave it for a short wile it my or maynot start then after another atempt it will turn over at full rate i have noticed that when it churns slowly the rev counter moves up ? help needed
