Trouble with a Maytag PAVT234AWW?

This washer is about 1.5 years old. 3 months after we bought it, the pump went out and was replaced under warranty. Since it was new, it has periodically splashed water out during a cycle. It is not overloaded because it has done it with different load sizes. The oversize load setting is never used anymore. We can live with a little water splash, though we don't feel we should have to. The main problem is that when washing towels, even a moderate load, there is always a lot of water left after the spin cycle. We have to run at least one or two more spin cycles to get the water out. This only happens with towels though. Any ideas would certainly be appreciated.
