Mend Vaillant ecomax Temperature Turn Dial

vaillant ecomax system boiler?

my boiler runs normally at low temperature, but when I turn it up above 5 on the temperature dial the starts to bang as if gas is exploding in the combustion chamber but no fault codes are showing on the screen, can anybody help? thanks.
