Trumatic ignition fault?

Hi. Has anybody come across my problem before. My trumatic S3002 works perfectly on electric, but on gas everything works except that the ignition spark unit does not stop operating once the fire has ignited. We get plenty of heat out of it, but I have to take the battery out to stop the clicking. Any comments would be appreciated.
