I have 2 Optiflame fires. The heaters work perfectly but you struggle to see the logs and flames when lit. They are so dull. We have replaced the bulbs with highest wattage recommended and it has made no difference. Has anyone else come across this problem - if so would love to know how to rectify it as they are really nice looking fires.
According to my Dimplex service manual the remote has 4 buttons but I might be wrong it's a long time since I worked on a Stockbridge.What are the switches on the fire for are they on/off 1 heat 2 heat?

How do you turn the dimmer up? The remote only has 2 buttons. One to turn it on then if you press it again the heater comes on. We have replaced the bulbs several times and they look ok. Am I missing something?

I take it you have turned up the dimmer to full brightness,do the bulbs look like they are dimmer than they should be.does the remote actually increase and decrease the brightness
