glow plug light on dash causing engine to cut out?

i have a 2002 renault kangoo. i recently had a new battery fitted and since then the glow plug light on the dash has been coming on inteermittently. when it does come on the engine cuts out. when the engine is idling it seems to rev higher and lower until it cuts out. often when ive been slowing down to turn a corner the engine stops, although it does start again sraight away everytime. i dont know if it related to the battery or just coincidence
