my sea doo gti wont run in water but is good out of water?

my sea doo runs fine out of water but when you put it in the water it stalls

Not sure about these and may be speaking out of turn. Assuming it has one think automatic clutch, pressure of water makes clutch slip so no drive....bit like a car.
Out of water runs fine because there is no water pressure on prop/screw.
