Robert,
Normally repairing tumble dryer belts is very easy if you can use a screwdriver and spanner. You'll know if it's straightforward if you can buy the belt easily from one of the online spares sellers. If you're not familiar with the layout; the belt acts just like a fan belt in a car and it links the 'drum' with the electric motor. You'll need to take the lid off the machine, then the rear cover. When these are off, you should be able to see the belt. If it is still attached, you'll need to loosen the motor - the manufacturers normally have a bolt passing through a curved slot for loosening or tightening the belt.
Re-assembling is the reverse of the dis-assembling, so just lay out all the parts in a logical order as you take them off the machine. It's straightforward so don't be afraid to have a go... what have you got to lose? remember your machine won't work at all without your repair!
