Mend Whirlpool Washer Motor Pump

How can I fix my washer?

My whirlpool washer agitates but does not spin out - leaves a barrel full of water and clothes. We have replaced the pump but that did not solve the problem. It has a direct drive motor with the water pump attached to the front of the motor.

Hello,

Sounds to me like a lid switch problem. If your type of washer goes "dead" in the drain and spin mode, a bad or broken lid switch would cause this. You can use a wire to jump the switch or you can just use a ohm meter to check continuity. Hope this helps.
