how do i check to find out why oil is getting in the air filter?

the name of my mower is "yard machine" and oil is being pulled back into air filter from motor.
model number 287707
14.5 OHV

If you add too much oil you will get it showing up in the filter. But i think when you tip the mower over to clean or sharpen the blade it will drain into the air filter assembly. Remember muffler sid always faces up.

Usually when you are getting oil back to air cleaner its a internal problem ...mostly rings are worn or a clogged air sytem ...
