Why is my Kenmore Elite 11060982990 dryer cutting off in mid-drying cycle?

It is cutting of in mid-drying cycle and blower cool air. When it stops it will dry start to dry again and cuts of in mid-cylce. Could it be the thermostat and is that the same as the thermistor
