Mend Black Wires Light

where do I put two black wires into a bathroom fitting?

Hi, taking off old light fitting, I find two black wires, new light fitting expecting a live, earth and neutral, what do I do?

D.I.Y, Lighting Black Wires Light

One of the black wires is live, electricians usually mark it with a little bit of red tape. If not connect both wires, one to live and one to neutral, restore the electrical supply, but don't switch on the light, then probe both wires with a neon indicator screwdriver. When the screwdriver lights, you have found live. Connect light accordingly, but this time mark the wire.
