bosch classixx 1200?

my machine starts its cycle but gets so far then stops. it fills with water makes some clicking noises then does nothing else. it sounds as if it is trying to heat up or start its washing cycle but does nothing. the drain function works, so it allows me to empty the machine to empty the load, but nothing else no spin or rinse functions. could anybody enlighten me on the fault and the fix.
