9827 Key Pad fault code 6F?

Alarm disabled during the day and went off twice showing 6F as the code, turned alarm off both times with security code but now dont know whether to set it for the weekend or not in case it goes off again! I've looke at zone 6 pir and all seems ok with sensor regsitering movement etc.

Acorn, thanks a lot for the code. Helped me a lot. Thought it was 6F but it's bF like you said.

Acorn, all that information is extremely helpful, thankyou. I can now see that there IS no 6F and it is obviously a b, but there is no need to be such twats about the replies, you and gts are obviously on here to provide very helpful information and I am sure that like me, everyone is extremely grateful for saving them money and solving their issues. So thanks again for all the information, I shall try not to waste your obviously valuable time again, pricks.

I'd love to have a definitive answer to make sure it's working correctly gts but until it fails again and I check that the code was indeed bf and not 6f, I'd rather not replace a relatively new battery on the off-chance. Of course Acorn knows more about this control panel than I do so he probably knows that the f will follow a b for battery rather than a 6 for sensor 6, but as I do not have the benefit of an instruction manual or experience of maintenance of the system I am hesitating to accept that the battery is indeed at fault. Could it be a faulty reading? I guess a new battery will prove that either way. I was charged £90 for a new battery last year, are these available to consumers anywhere or are they an alarm specialist item?

Acorn: thank you for your quick reply, I've only just got into work to check the howtomendit site and see that you would have preferred a quicker thankyou! I am certainly grateful for your help and I also like to be recognised for my help when it's due, so thanks again!

I thought it said 6F but when it happens again I'll double check that it's not a b. I had a new battery fitted last year in April 09 so am surprised if this is the case as the last battery had not been replaced for 5 years. The alarm was set over the weekend and turned off normally this morning without any problems??????

People saying Thankyou, Acorn dont be silly, You want to be woken at 3am because someone cant stop their alarm ringing.
All because someone put their number on this site.
What a good idea that was.

Nick

It's bF NOT 6F.

bF = Battery Fault, (you need a new one)

PS
9827 is the Keypad type/number, your control panel is a 9800
