Mend Hoover Dimension Switch Apart

How do I replace carpet height switch on Hoover?

Have taken Hoover dimension apart and cannot get spring back in carpet hieght switch or find photo to show how to do it - no directions in manual for removal and replacement of said switch. Also have problem figuring our how to reassemble the switch.
