How to fix my MR jet stream elite iron?

Hi all i have a MR jet steam elite and when I switch it on the stand by light flashes but the plate is not heating up and the light in the iron is not on. Opened the iron up and have power going to and from the hot plate. Does anyone have any ideas please would be a great help
