Mend Briggs & Stratton Lawnmower Oil

how to fix lawnmower?

Oil is pouring out of my Briggs & Stratton mower. When I eventually get it started white smoke bellows out of it. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

Thanks for your reply, Rick, but, pardon my ignorance, what is a breather and how do I unplug it.

First check to be sure the oil is not overfilled.
If it is not the breather may be plugged up.
