How do I replace the heating element on my Hoover HSC 170 tumble drier?

We think we have a problem with the heating element on our Hoover HSC 170 tumble drier. We have located a part but can't work out how to access the wires to replace it. The case is one piece (apart from the front) and the bottom panel has all sorts of parts attached to it. The wires also can't be accessed from top. It seems a huge job to take the front off and take the drum out - does anyone else have any other ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
