ccr 600 radio cassette cd player?

hi there, got a ccr 600 vauxhall radio with codes all works fine, got a cd player to match up, with code, all worked fine in my r reg vec LS about 2 years ago, just fitted it in me sons sxi vec v reg, can get the code up for the radio and all works fine , put the cd player in and cant get the code up, theres power to the cd player , when you power up to enter codes, 2 codes are needed to run both of them, but only the radio code is comeing up, does any one no wot is going wrong, all worked fine in the other vec, so why wont it work in this vec, can any one help , cheers ken.
