The solenoids, there are 2, 1 for hot and 1 for cold, the water inlet hoses connect to them. Remove the faulty one, take it to a parts shop and buy a new one, should be about $40

I don't know the exact method to fix your problem but my machine did the exact same thing and would overflow all the time. Electrolux tech fixed the problem about 12 months ago and all is well since. He replaced a module on the main board that took about 10 minutes. Can't recall the cost but think it was about $130 which included the callout of $99.Hope this helps.
