p.s i take it you are pulling in the brakes and at least one of the brake lights work i.e does the rear light light up bright of you pull either brake in?as its part of the starter motor circuit to have a brake applied or the button wont do a thing !

ok the gilera runner sp has a starter relay behind the lt hand rear sidepanel im sure,take the panel off and bridge the two big wires on it together with a screwdriver or similar metal tool and see the motor spins over.if not then either the battery is dead or the wire from the battery to relay or wire from relay to battery is loose or broken or pssibly the starter motor itself is faulty.if it does spin then the problem is with the starter button or the wiring.let me know ok

hi is this a chinese bike?,no problem with these bike's but the starter button tend's to callapse,you'll need to remove switch gear and rebuild but watch out for the small ballbearing & it is clear how to repair visually
