my gilera dna 125 just wont start?

hi my gilera dna 125 wont start could do with some help trien to figure out wots going one
al it does wen u turn the key is make a ticking noise cus of clocks i think
wen i push the electrick start button it does nothing it dont even make a noise to turn over had brand new battery i had the starter motor recond and checked wires and they al seem fine wot could it be i would be grateful to any help my names daz
