Hi, I have a Lacie 500gb ex hard drive with a lot of movies and other stuff that i dont want anymore so i went about formatting it using a prog called Swissknife, but something went wrong and now my desktop or my laptop wont recognize it help!

It sounds to me as though you have Formatted the drive. Formatting destroys the pointers to the information stored on the drive. (Essentially it wipes it.) In your case it seems to have destroyed the Partition(s) as well.

Using Windows (or what have you) System Tools you need to create a partition and then format that partition.
