Mend Ariston Machine Door Catch

Ariston 2000 Washing Machine - How can I open the door?

The door catch handle will not open the door it is loose and there is no resistence when it is used. As the washing machine is full of clothes is there any other way of getting the door open without forcing it?

open the top cover of the machine, 2 screws at the rear and you can see a catch to the latch, just relase the catch at the lock switch, most probably the ctach handle is broken
