Hoover VHD9143 door security light on won't open?

Hi, my VHD9143 security light remained on after a wash and won't turn off so i can't open door to access washing. I have tried re-washing on all cycles and even turned machine off by wall for a couple of hours but it still remains on. Everything else is fine (spinning,emptying etc) Any ideas???
