Mend Boiler Water Pressure Heating

what is wrong with my boiler?

have a combi boiler the problem is when i turn the tap on down stairs the boiler does not fire up i have to go upstairs in the bathroom turn the water on then run down stairs and turn the tap on in order for it to come through hot
