EGR Valve: What it looks like? How to replace or clean it?

Hi Guys,

I have Ford Mondeo, 1.8 Petrol LX model. (52 plate).
Couple of weeks ago while on the motorway the engine management light came on while driving.
I have since had the light checked (EGR fault code P0400) and cleared without fixing the problem. Couple of days later the light appeared again with the same fault. :-(

So I have couple questions:
1, what does the EGR valve look like and location?
(I think I have found it next to the coil pack?)

2, How to take it off?

3, How to clean it?

Other recommendations welcome.
