How do I replace the fan belt on my N reg Ford Escort?

There is an awful sqealing sound coming from my car when i first start the engine, I've been told that it's my fan belt, which apparently can be easily sorted myself, so how do I do it?
It's an N reg Ford Escort 1299 cc petrol

You don't need to just spray it with WD40. If you don't know where the cam belt I will tell you. In the engine compartment you will see your engine and radiator. Next to the radiator is a plastic cover. Remove it and spray it with WD40
