Mend Briggs & Stratton 28R707 Governor Engine

What is involved in repairing the governor on B&S engine model 28R707, 13.5?

What is involved in replacing the governor on a Briggs and Stratton 13.5 hp engine model 28R707? I have no speed control using the throttle but the linkage works fine, the throttle only works in the choke position, other than that the engine runs wide open.

When you say 'wide open', do you mean you have a 'run-away' that sounds like it's going to blow up, or do you mean it goes to maximum mowing RPM, and you have no control?

If the former, the the internal govenor mechanism is faulty, and will require an engine strip to repair..

If the latter, it's just an adjustment issue.
