Mend Paloma PH-3 Heater Light Pilot

Paloma water heater?

After being left for a week or more it takes a long time to light the pilot light, the igniter works, it takes a long time for the gas to come to the pilot light, once its lit, it works perfect, can anyone give any suggestions on how to cure it?

Hi Moranite, It sounds like you are having to purge the air from the gas feed, which in its self is not major problem but how the air is getting in and therefor the gas escaping may well be.
