How to put back thread tension dial knob bits ?

Just like Lisalou(?) I was fiddling with the tension dial knob on my sewing machine when the bits all fell off and I can't fathom out how to put it back together. It's an old machine (in a wooden desk). It's a Viscount 1000. The instruction booklet which came with it (second-hand) has no reference numbers in it at all.

Thanks Ken, but I only have 5 bits. I'm sure the thin wire spring with a sticky-up bit goes on first (because it didn't fall off). Then I only have the knob which obviously goes on last, plus a heavy-duty type spring, and two stainless steel disks - the smaller one has a bar through the middle and a small bit sticking out at the edge, and the larger one has lots of sticky-out bits. I don't know which way round either of these pieces goes on.

Hello Yvonne,
I am not absolutely sure about this one because I can't visualise the machine but if it is really old then it shoul be the big return spring on first, then the large disc, then a cupped disc, then the second cup disc, then the cone spring, then the thumb screw.
