Craftsman riding lawn tractor cutting blades will not engage?

Craftsman rideing lawn tractor (mower) After pushing the lever to cut grass, the cutting blades will not engage. I need suggestions on what to do to fix this problem.

Sa me thing happened after I replaced the mandrel onleft side. went to engage blades, won't go . tried again & snapped cable clutch on craftsman lawn tracter. Now I'm trying to figure out how to remove mower deck toeffect repairs.
