how do I adjust the hinges on my apartment door to close on it's own?

I installed new carpeting and since then, my front door doesn't close on it's own. The door is supposed to be self closing, however, perhaps the height of the carpeting is interferring with the bottom of the door. Can I adjust the hinges so the door closes on it's own?

You're going to have to remove the door and plane a few millimetres off the bottom to get a good fit.
