Mend BT Synergy 4500 Cordless Phone No Dial Tone Handset

How can I fix my BT Synergy 4500 Phone?

My BT Synergy phone has stopped working. The line is ok (Another phone plugged in!) and all batteries are fully charged. There is no dial tone - The ring for incoming calls can be heard, but no answer when picked up. All info on the handset is normal. Help!!
