Mend Veritas R10 Change System House

Can't change code on Veritas system?

Evening all

Just bought a new house and inherited a veritas system. Want to change the code so followed internet instructions (they didn't leave manual or service book) entered current code then pressed prog but when I press prog all that happens is a low tone beep sounds and it won't let me enter "60" to change the code.

Any ideas anyone?
