The external alarm box on my house chirps intermittently whenever the outside air temperature is below freezing - my neighbour's system which is identical also does this. Am I right in thinking this is because the voltage on the battery in the box is falling below a preset threshold (due to the low temperature) and the sounder is trying to indicate that the battery is failing? The battery is three years old so would it help to change it?
If the bell box is a GardTec/Risco Nova 2 model, about 3 years old, the bell is faulty (certain component failed at low temperature). Fault known by maker and rectified in later models.
